We were recently able to help a Generali customer (of another broker) after reading her post on the Total France forum.
We thought this link would be useful to other British expat residents in France as it highlights a common misunderstanding about the way French home insurance policies (and indeed car, medical and other insurance policies) are renewed in France.

A good agent does indeed make all the difference.
We have had our property and vehicles insured with Philippe and his excellent team for over 10 years and the contrast between the service – and value for money – that they have given us and that given to us by our previous insurer has been enormous. Our enquiries are always responded to – and in detail – and on the few occasions that we have had to make a claim, the process has been straightforward and efficient.
